Rock legend Ronnie James Dio diagnosed with stomach cancer
On 26.11.2009
As some of you may know, rock legend Ronnie James Dio was due to embark
out on tour across the UK earlier this month, but at the last minute
had to cancel the shows due to illness.
We’ve just received word from his management team, who have given us
the sad news that Ronnie has been diagnosed with the early stages
stomach cancer. In a statement, they said:
"We are starting treatment immediately at the Mayo Clinic. After he
kills this dragon, Ronnie will be back on stage, where he belongs,
doing what he loves best, performing for his fans.
"Thanks to all the friends and fans around the world that have sent well wishes. This has really helped to keep his spirit up.
"Long Live Rock and Roll, Long Live Ronnie James Dio"
Here at Download HQ, all our thoughts are with Ronnie and his family,
and on behalf of the world of rock we’d like to say get well soon Dio.
We can’t wait to see you back on top where you belong very soon.
