Originating from St. Etienne in the French department Rhône - Alpes,HOLY CROSS formed in 2006 have chosen the path of classic, timelesspower metal reaching international standards which they follow withpassion and despise for all trends driven by the music industry.

Their now released debut album „Under the flag“ clearly refreshes theFrench heavy metal scene with their all but stereotypically Frenchsounding compositions. We're talking about songs that reside in theneighborhood of north American acts such as ICED EARTH, CAGE or JAGPANZER with a good amount of German metal in the WIZARD vein, some raw,blood red British steel inspired by JUDAS PRIEST and even influences byeastern European bands like POKOLGÉP, ARAKAIN and OMEN thrown in forthe good measure, while HOLY CROSS still deliver a powerful heavy soundand stay memorable with charisma throughout the record.

Musically you get a mixture of hard driving, dry power metal, heroicpathos and super emotional epic lines, fueled by charismatically vocalsthat range from furious growling to anthemia melodies, all of it builton a base of solid rhythms with playful structures.
